Are you planning on attending this year's Maui Film Festival? If you enjoy cinematic creativity composed by passionate filmmakers to reach a diverse audience, you won't want to miss it. This is one of the island's most popular annual events, owing to the authenticity of the films, the guests, and the attendees. The Celestial Cinema is definitely the event favorite. Imagine yourself settling onto the lush green of the Wailea Gold and Emerald Golf Course under a starlit sky to watch films projected onto a 50' solar powered screen. Relax and enjoy films that are as exceptional as the natural beauty that surrounds you.
How do you get there? You'll make your way to the Wailea Resort Event Parking Lot at the top of Wailea Ike Drive. Once you've parked we will provide you with free shuttle service to and from the venue. We'll keep our comfortable and spacious Van Hool Motorcoaches running continuously to and from the venue throughout the event, starting at 6:15pm, so all the attendees can get back and forth quickly and with ease. That's our business at Akina Tours, and we enjoy providing this service to the wonderful folks who will be coming to the Celestial Cinema and the Taste of Wailea event, which will kick off the film festival on June 15th.
This year's Celestial Cinema film lineup:
As for the celebrity award winners, there are three talented recipients. A Navigator Award will go to Brian Cranston, best known for his portrayal of Walter White on AMC's 'Breaking Bad,' for which he has won no less than four Emmy® Awards, a Golden Globe Award and three SAG Awards. A Navigator Award will also be presented to Viola Davis who enraptured audiences with her portrayal of Aibileen Clark in 'The Help,' for which she received an Oscar nomination for Best Actress, along with nominations for a Golden Globe and British Academy Film Award, and won the Screen Actors Guild and Critics' Choice Best Actress Award. Receiving this year's Rain Maker Award is Michael B. Jordan, who is best known for his portrayal of Adonis Johnson, in the starring role of the film 'Creed.'
Our shuttles begin continuous service at 6:15pm and will return to the event parking lot at the end of each Special Event and Celestial Cinema Feature Film. You can purchase a variety of event passes and get more information at www.mauifilmfestival.com. This year's festival begins on June 15th and ends on the 19th. We hope you have an amazing time at the festival! Mahalo!
