Let us take you on a journey back in time. This tour will educate
you
and enlighten you about the Hawaiian Culture and its history.
This tour begins with a walk on the grounds of an ancient Heiau (Hawaiian Shrine). This will
be followed by a drive into Maui's magnificent mountains where you will enjoy the spectacular views of the
knife edged ridges and lush vegetation of historic Iao Valley. A walk around Kepaniwai park and Heritage
Gardens will offer you interesting insights to Maui's multiracial society.
On the way out of the valley, you will tour the Bailey House Museum, which is built on the
royal compound of King Kahekili. While in the museum you will view a collection of over 1000 Hawaiian Artifacts circa 1700.
Enjoy the beautiful scenery of Waikapu Valley, colorful tropical flowers and fruits while we stop at the Maui
Tropical Plantation for lunch. Experience a 45-minute Tram ride through 60 acres of
Plantation fields, viewing island-grown crops of papaya, guava, mango, taro, macadamia nuts, coffee and much
more. Enjoy a delightful no-host lunch at the Plantation Cafe. Choose from the buffet or a la carte menu. You may
also shop at the Country Store for Maui-made and Maui-grown goodies, gifts and souvenirs.
Then it's on to Lahaina. During this picturesque drive over the Pali (cliff), you will be able to
see the neighboring islands of Molokini, Kaho'olawe, Lanai and Molokai. During whaling season, you may even be able to see these beautiful
creatures who make Maui their second home. Upon entering Lahaina you will
experience the historical beauty of Lahaina town, which was once the royal capitol of the Hawaiian Islands, a
playground for our Kings and Queens, the whaling capitol of the Pacific and home of the early missionaries. You will
see and hear it all as our guide gives you a narrated tour of Lahaina's historic and cultural sites.
The last stop will be made in the historic town of Lahaina, where you'll stop at the World's
largest manufacturer of Hawaiian and Tropical Fashions, Gifts and Souvenirs, for a One-Stop Hawaiian Shopping.
Experience the Best Values and Best Prices. You'll find it only at "The Store of Hawaii" Hilo Hattie's who
received HVCB's "Kahili Award" for best attraction in Hawaii for 1996. You will then return to your hotel with
unforgettable and lasting knowledge and memories of Maui's history and culture.
