Welcome to summer and we hope you’re enjoying planning your next trip to Hawaii! We can’t wait to see you during your visit to Maui and hope that you consider booking one of our special Hawaii sightseeing tours in a little hidden gem of a town known as Keokea! Have you heard of it? If not, let us fill you in on what you can expect by booking a sightseeing excursion with our Maui tour company to this rustic town along the slopes of Haleakala!

Keokea is a small island town tucked in the idyllic setting of Maui’s upcountry region. Here you will find a birds-eye view of Maui, have a chance to explore an amazing local winery, engulf yourself in the local paniolo (cowboy) culture and enjoy tasty food at the famous Ulupalakua Ranch store and Grandma’s Coffee House. Each of these locations offer visitors something truly unique. Grandma’s Coffee House for instance is a little hole-in-the-wall restaurant that has been around since 1918! Four generations later, this breakfast spot is still in the family’s name. And with a name like Grandma’s Coffee House how can you go wrong? Another stop along the way is the former Tedeschi Winery and current Maui Wine location. This winery started as a partnership between C. Pardee Erdman of Ulupalakua Ranch and Emil Tedeschi of Napa Valley. Together they make and sell wines to showcase the island’s unique flavors. We recommend you try the Lokelani! It’s a delicious sparkling rose that will please your taste buds. Cheers!

And then there’s the Ulupalakua Ranch store that has some great meat and potato dishes so you can dine like a real cowboy during your time on Maui! One dish worth trying is the slow-roasted Maui Cattle Company beef brisket with homemade BBQ sauce and olive-oil-and-parsley mashed potatoes. Is your mouth watering yet?

All these reasons and more make Maui’s upcountry town of Keokea a worthy stop during your stay in Maui.
