Here at Akina Tours & Transportation, we have unique tour options that show you Maui in a fun an exciting light. Maui is one of the most adventurous islands but there’s more to this tropical paradise than its sandy beaches and sunsets. And in order to truly get a better understanding of what makes this island so special, you should consider one of our tours. We have everything from tropical farm tours to options to even build your own tour and every one gives you a behind-the-scenes-look at Maui. One new tour that we have that is both unique and educational is our special Maui distillery tour that pairs well with our Maui Pineapple tour.

While this tour may not be for everyone, it’s certainly an appealing option for those of you who consider yourselves spirit aficionados or someone who just simply enjoys indulging in one of life’s many pleasures – a good drink. The distillery you will visit with us is known as the Haliimaile Distilling Company and is located in the Haliimaile district near Makawao in Maui’s upcountry region. This area is rural, rustic, and beautiful; and the distillery was built in 2010 by the LeVecke family. This local family has been involved with the spirit industry for over half a century and on the Hawaiian Islands for more than 30 years building brands such as Hana Bay Rum and Whaler’s Rum.

Today the distillery is known for its very popular and acclaimed Pau Maui Vodka but the company also creates Fid Street Gin, Sammy’s Beach Bar Rum, Paniolo Blended Whiskey and Maui Moon Handcrafted Vodka. The distillery tour is open to all ages but the tasting room is only for those 21 years old and up. The tour will include 20 to 30 minutes of the distillery where their educated staff will teach you about the various local ingredients and custom still used to create the spirits. What fun!

Make sure you put this Hawaii tour on your to-do list for your next vacation to Maui. Also, if you have time, check out our group services page and our activity transportation page and request a quote from us. We hope to see you at one of our distillery tours and please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions you have about this tour options or our various other services on Maui. Enjoy and a hui hou!
