We Value Our Customer
Maui’s oldest family-owned, native-Hawaiian transportation company values long-term relationships with our customers and takes pride in the quality of our service.
We are your local Maui based experts with a combined experience of 95 years in the transportation and hospitality industry. We take the time to get to know you. We provide more than just transportation. We provide you with an experience.
Our extensive fleet accommodates groups of all sizes. No group is too big or too small. We coordinate airport transfers, island tours, activity transfers, dine-arounds and events. From individuals to well-seasoned destination management companies, wedding coordinators to large corporations—all appreciate our attention to detail.
Our entire fleet is impeccably cared for by on-site mechanics in our certified maintenance facility. Our vehicles are serviced above industry maintenance standards. Our Electronic Vehicle Inspection System allows drivers to inspect vehicles electronically, scanning and catching deficiencies before a vehicle goes on the road.
No Hidden Fees
We are regulated by the Public Utilities Commission and provide our clients with detailed quotes so there are no hidden fees. Be sure to compare “apples to apples” so that the price you are quoted is all inclusive of taxes, fees, service charges and any additional services or amenities.
Explore the road less taken. Each of Akina’s hand-picked experiences have been carefully chosen to reveal authentic and cultural destinations on Maui. We live here. We know that while the beaten path is good for some, others are looking for an up close and personal experience with a driver who will be your trusted guide. We have been delivering the best tours on Maui for 90 years now. Climb on board. Let us take you there!
Tour from your resort to Maui’s infamous North Shore, then climb onto a plantation vehicle and “earn your red boots” on one of Maui’s last working pineapple plantations. Learn all stages of production from this purple flower stage, to full ripeness. Pick fruit right from the field, then have it served up for you to taste like you’ve never tasted before. Maui Gold Pineapples at their finest. Each person gets a souvenir pineapple pack to take home with them!
Head “Upcountry” onto the slopes of Haleakala: Maui’s most abundant agricultural zone. Choose from of a selection of tropical farms highlighting different tropical flora such as Kula Botanical Garden, then visit Historic Makawao Town, the heart of Maui’s Cowboy Country. You can even try your skills at ‘haku’ lei making and take home a beautiful souvenir of your special day at the 3,000 ft. zone on Maui’s dormant volcano.
Create your own adventure! Why conform to a cookie cutter tour? Tell us your dream and we’ll help you custom craft a tropical getaway for just you. From surprise marriage proposals, or a romantic getaway, to farm to table field trips or cultural learning experiences–let us build an Maui excursion that is uniquely yours.
